Veteran Ugandan Dancehall Star Master Parrot Dies in Tragic Kampala Road Accident
Veteran Ugandan dancehall musician David Sifaayo, popularly known as Master Parrot, has passed away following a tragic road accident in Kampala.
According to reports, the accident occurred on Monday evening along the Kampala Northern Bypass in the Masanafu area. The singer was reportedly struck by a speeding motorcycle while attempting to cross the highway.
Eyewitnesses and preliminary reports indicate that Master Parrot sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. His body was later transferred to Mulago City Mortuary.
Master Parrot rose to prominence during the late 1990s and early 2000s, becoming one of Uganda’s most recognized dancehall artists. He is remembered for hit songs such as Muliro, Ekikompola, and Maama Wabaana.
He was also among the pioneering members of Firebase Crew, a music group founded by Bobi Wine, and played a key role in shaping Uganda’s modern dancehall sound.
Fans, fellow musicians, and industry stakeholders have expressed deep condolences, remembering him as a talented artist whose music inspired many Ugandans.
