Ggaba Daycare Killings: Okello Sentenced to Death, Given 14 Days to Appeal

The High Court in Kampala has sentenced a man identified as Okello to death following his conviction for the brutal killing of four toddlers in the widely publicized Ggaba daycare attack.

Delivering the ruling on April 30, 2026, the court found Okello guilty on four counts of murder, bringing a somber close to a case that has gripped the nation for weeks. The presiding judge dismissed the defense’s claims of mental illness, stating that the prosecution had presented overwhelming evidence proving intent and responsibility.
